"Bohyang Dawon" in Boseong, Jeollanamdo

From Damyang, we took an hour bus ride to Boseong and visited the Bohyang Dawon- Organic green tea field.Do you know that this organic tea plantation produced the first Gold Tea in the world. Yes , Gold Tea! It refers to the gold in leaves.

We had a  tour around the amazing terraced fields and had plucked some flowers, which is good to brew tea.

The tea ceremony at Bohyang dawon was an amazing experience. It involves several steps such as your sitting posture, the way you hold the tea and more.

Most importantly, to absorb the benefit of the tea, one will have to be happy and stay optimistic.

Beside using green tea leaves, lot of strength, patience are needed to make tea. Thanks to the owner, we had an enjoyable time making tea and our group WON THE FIRST PRIZE(The famous gold tea)!

Do remember to buy some green tea back home! Price is from 7,000KRW onwards!

Direction: When travelling by train, take the KTX from Seoul to Gwangju (approximately three hours). Once in Gwangju, go the Gwangju Bus Terminal and take an intercity bus headed for Boseong (approximately one hour and 40 minutes). Once at Boseong Bus Terminal, take a bus headed for the Green Tea Plantation and Yulpo (approximately 10-15 minute ride).

" Samjinae Village" in Damyang, Jeollanamdo

The impression of Damyang to many people is the bamboo garden. However, one should also visit the Samjinae Village! Known as the "slow city", it is a great place to get away from all the stress and bustling city life.

The first activities I did was to make a honey candle

The whole process was relatively easy as all you need to do is to dip it for 10times. However, do remember that you are in Asia's first slow city! Hence, you have to do it  SLOWLY.

This is also a great way to test your patience!

If you are thinking of doing any shortcut, such as dipping it longer, my advice is to not do it because you will definitely regret! 

Besides that, there are many recreational activities provided. Such as Korean traditional activities and bicycles for free.

Korean Buffet Lunch was provided!

We had an enjoyable experience making the famous rice taffy(엿yeot) in Samjinae village.

We used all strength to pull it and it turned from brown to white.

A very delicious candy that you should try while you are in Korea.

Later on, we had a night walk around the village, which I highly recommend you guys to go during the day. As according to the guide, the view is better and you might be able to drop by certain house that provides experience to visitors. Also, there are several guesthouse in the village! 

Dinner was scrumptious!

After dinner, we made our own mini album!

This is my first mini album! All you need to do is glue two small rectangular cardboard with Korean traditional paper (choose your favourite design) and paste on the front and back.
After doing so, paste your photo and write down your message.

This marks the end of my day 1, and I really love the mini album! Turning this amazing experience into a tangible one!

Samjinae Village & Bohyang Dawon

" Samjinae Village" in Damyang, Jeollanamdo.

"Pali Pali " which means Faster in English , is something that you always hear in Korea especially in Seoul!

In this Pali Pali Society, there is actually a place where you can enjoy life at a slower pace and that is the" Samjinae Village" in Damyang, Jeollanamdo.
Named as the first city in Asia to earn the reputation of a “slow city”, you could enjoy the beauty of the old stone wall.while walking the village road that is registered as a culture heritage.

Not forgetting the local food, the Changpyeong Rice Yeot is a must try. As the receipt is handed down from a court lady who settled here.
